Mixed Billing Information
Dear valued patients,
Our Better Family Health Clinics will be moving to mixed billing, meaning appointments will incur an out-of-pocket fee for those over 16 years old and those who do not hold a concession card.
Due to the governments health spending unable to keep up with the constant increase in healthcare costs, many practices have had to transition to mixed billing in where the patient is charged an out-of-pocket fee, which we endeavoured to avoid.
The cost of running a medical centre continues to rise year by year with significant increase in costs to medical supplies, especially across the course of the pandemic. We have tried our best to avoid introducing mixed billing fees for standard appointments, but comprehensive patient care is our commitment to you and without introducing these fees, this may lead to the clinics having to permanently close.
From Monday 8th August, Bli Bli Clinic and Kuluin Clinic will join our Mooloolaba Family Clinic in implementing an out-of-pocket fee for standard appointments.
Please be assured that this was not an easy decision and was made with extreme consideration to the severity of the situation.
